Found this app to be as accurate as other apps that you have to buy. Love the looks of it too. Nice job!

I was in my room at 2:00am and it was dead silent, yet this app was reading 50dB minimum! Pros: its a cool idea and it was free
It does what it says it will, simply and smoothly. It seems accurate for me. Highly recommended. I tried the others and they werent even close.
If you put your mic to the spot where your heart is it shows the heart beats on the needle!
Please, app description-ers; list what devices this app will work with at the beginning of the description. I have iPod touch but many descriptions dont include it even tho it would work fine and does by the way.
This app used to work but now it just crashes. Ive tried opening and closing, hard restarts, and uninstalling and reinstalling and it just crashes.
iPhone 4 w/iOS 4.1 indicates 79 dB in my vehicle without the radio on and A/C fan on low. Actual dB is more like 63. A calibration "trim" adjustment would be a big plus.
Works great. Thank you for this nice app.
Those of you silly folks who gave this app one or two stars need to google how decibels work and what sounds are measured at. For instance a whisper is 30 db. Normal conversation is around 60 to 80 db. Sounds shouldnt be more than 85db to protect your hearing. This app runs pretty close to accurate. Its gets five stars from me because its free and looks nice! Worth the space on your device.
For those who said that this app is not accurate, pls re-read your definition of dB. A "quiet" room is 30-40dB. A whisper is 50dB. "Noisy" is 85+dB. This FREE app is accurate and awesome. Kudos to the developer. Yes, it could flip when you flip the phone around; it doesnt. So what?! A+
Even in silent it sits at 40 decibels. Thats as loud as a cough. Needs some work
You will never see a decibel reading of zero. It does not exist. Go spend $100 on a real decimeter. You will find it works about the same as this app. Before you post, do some research.
I run sound at my church of 400, and needed a decibel meter. My sound is set at 79-81 decibels; but according to this ap its at 90. I even lower my volume to 10% but it was still at 90 decibels. Restarting the ap doesnt help either. Dont bother with this dud ap.
I had this thing in an area with hundreds of noisy crickets yet the meter was dead at 0 dbs what a waste of space !
Even in a silent room the needle does not go below 40. What a waste of my time!
Works perfect. Those other who say the db level is too high dont understand whats a normal level. Come on people, do your research first
Appears the AT&T 3GS also does not work with this app, at least on iOS 5. Needle sits at 0, occasionally jumps to somewhere in the middle, then drops back to 0.
Doesnt even work with iOS 4.2.1
As stated by the other users, it works just fine. I compared it my spl meter and its almost dead on. Spl is sound pressure level by the way. Like the others said, do your homework!
This app seems to be pretty accurate. I compared it with my Radio Shack meter and it reads within a few db. Only change I would like to see is a digital readout in addition to the analog one. I think a lot of the negative reviews are from people that dont understand how sol meters work... Even in a room you think is "silent" a meter will still read 30-40db...thats just the way it is...
